David MacKay spent £10,000 financing the publishing of his own book, “Sustainable Energy – Without the Hot Air”. It was picked up by the Boing Boing blog among others, and became a bestseller almost overnight. The plaudits earned from all quarters are deserved – this is a terrifically readable book which breaks down the complex and sometimes confusing issues around sustainable energy into human-readable concepts and numbers – and does so in a greatly entertaining way. The book is freely available in digital form from the website http://www.withouthotair.com/ so if you have an e-book reader get downloading. For the rest there are paper versions in the shops. A breath of fresh air.

Thank you for the nice review! Thanks to the help of volunteers, the book can even be viewed in plain old HTML in your plain old browser, as well as in PDF. No unusual e-book reader required. I hope you like it! David
