Keith Martin, senior lecturer in publishing, at the London College of Communication (LCC) was a senior judge for this year’s Digital Magazine Awards, held last night at the Proud Gallery in Camden. The awards, now in their second year, have attracted the best of digital magazine design and publishing from across the world.
This year the top prize went to POST, the first independent magazine exclusively for Ipad. The magazine which covers fashion, art, architecture, cinema, music, science and anything new, and tomorrow, “looks beyond the traditional rules of how and what magazine ‘should’ be, in favour of speculating upon what magazines could be.”
Their POST Gravity issue includes a groundbreaking interactive 3D fashion story in which users can flip, bend and distort the dimensions of model Iselin Steiro, and professional skydivers dressed in sharp suits dancing in the microgravity environment of a wind tunnel.
The 2012 awards follow the hosting of the inaugural event at the LCC Well Gallery by the MA Publishing course who continue their association with these innovative awards.
