RAINBOWS, birds and other pretty images will cover the smoke-stained exterior of a shop front in Clapham this weekend as ex-LCC student Roopa Basu leads a team of volunteers in painting a colourful mural.

Roopa, who studied Design for Visual Communication, pitched her idea to Wandsworth Council, who have stumped up the cash and provided technical help in realising the gentrification.

Anybody interested in helping out this weekend is welcome.
