Tandem team win advertising award – again!

TOP DUO Dani Cubillos and Leonie Claver, both London College of Communication BA (Hons) Advertising students, have won another coveted advertising prize.

For the second year running, the visionary team came among the top entrants in the Cannt Skinny Cubs Awards.

The competition, set by leading agency LBI, is a rival to the Cannes Young Lions contest.  Judged by leading practitioners in British advertising, candidates must submit ideas in response to a brief set by the agency within 48 hours.

This year’s challenge was a solution for a campaign to encourage advertising agencies to take on apprentices, rather than offering the more usual internship scheme.

Dani and Leonie’s idea was to present candidates on a website that prospective employers could search.

“The idea was the one that most made me feel like I was getting something out of the whole deal,” one judge said.

Dani is now working for g2 Joshua for the summer, one of 15 interns selected from a pool of 200 students.

Leonie  is spending her summer at the London School of Economics, doing a course in Communication, Citizens and Social Politics.

Come this time next year, both students are in the best place possible for employment. Graham Symon of Purple, a specialist advertising recruitment agency, has his eyes on these up-and-coming stars.
