IN APRIL they won D&AD Baby Pencils when they were nominated to compete in this year’s student design competitions. In June they won the organistion’s Yellow Pencils when they were chosen as the best in their class.
Hwasoo Shim and Jay Yeo, two students on London College of Communication’s BA (Hons) Graphic and Media Design course, have picked up the prize regarded as one of the most prestigious for newcomers to the design industry.
Linda Halaszova, an FdA Graphic and Spatial Communication student, also won a Yellow Pencil.
D&AD is the charity promoting excellence in British design, and the pencils mark the most promising up-and-coming talent.
They sketch out the most employable people entering the advertising industry: D&AD claim that 76pc of graduating award winners secure a job offer or placement within three months of leaving university.
