Two London College of Communication (LCC) BA Graphic Product Innovation students have been shortlisted for Design Factory 2012, a design competition run by the Design Museum.
This year, participating students were challenged to ‘make the everyday extraordinary’, encouraging students to work across disciplines to interrogate the design of products we interact with in day-to-day life.
Shortlisted student Alex Kemp used discontinued wallpaper samples, scraps of card, recycled greeting cards, and off cuts of plywood to create eco-friendly furniture.
Whereas fellow Product Innovation student Roland Koves redesigned the fruit bowl to tackle the difficulty of storing fresh fruit effectively.
Roland and Alex, will join the forty students selected to attend to the Design Factory one day Symposium later in May which includes a mini-brief for the students and talks/contributions from Designs of the Year 2012 exhibition nominees.
