LCC illustrators to collaborate with ’26 Stories of Christmas’

26 Stories of Christmas 2011

Some of the best illustration and design students from LCC are collaborating with writers from around the world in a festive project called 26 Stories of Christmas.

Nine BA Graphic & Media Design students who are taking the Diploma in Professional Studies have been selected to take part in a wonderful collaborative project which pairs them with a well known writer to collaborate and develop a visual narrative to match a modern story for Christmas.

Lisa Grant, Oliver Binnian, Laura Warrington, Simon Phan, Ceyu Chen, Susan Yan Mach, Kristine Omandap, Netta Peltola and David Bate have been selected and will be twinned with their writer in mid-November at the Somerset House Ice Rink.

Thought up and put together by the writers’ organisation, 26, the project will challenge writers to learn more about different people and traditions across the globe via 500-word stories inspired by traditional Christmas objects.

26 will pair some of the stories with illustrators and designers from LCC at a special Christmas venue. They’ll respond to their story visually – creating a piece of art that will sit beside the story when it’s published on a new website to be launched this month. There will be a story a day from 1 December.
