Design work by Olly Gibbs, a recent graduate from the Illustration pathway on LCC’s BA Graphic & Media Design course, is featured in the September edition of Computer Arts Magazine.
The magazine showcases three pieces of Olly’s work: ‘Pulled Apart by Horses’, ‘Varoom!’ and ‘Working Together’. All of which were produced on the three-year undergraduate course at LCC and exhibited as part of Olly’s degree show, ‘Round About‘.
The team at Computer Arts were drawn to Olly’s work for its diversity and complimentary balance of illustration and graphic design.
“His ‘Pulled Apart by Horses’ box set had an eye-catching cover with great use of colour and graphic elements, whilst the packaging was contrastingly more mono-tone and illustrative”, says Becca Allen, Designer at Computer Arts. “Olly has a good eye for detail which is demonstrated in all of his submitted projects.”

The album cover is particularly good. It was great to see more of his illustrations on his blog. I love the first Lickle Laura illustration [here: http://www.ollygibbs.com/lickle-laura/#blog ]. Would look great on a T-Shirt; although, I realise this isn’t exactly a groundbreaking medium on which to promote the illustrations.
