Students from LCC’s BA Interior Design course were exhibiting at the annual Free Range show held at The Old Truman Brewery, Brick Lane between 14 and 18 July this year. The private view held on 14 July was a successful night and was visited by hundreds of people, all eager to see what the interior design students have to offer.
LCC students were exhibiting as part of Free Range’s Interior Educators (IE) Group which provides exchange of ideas for interiors education and educators in the UK. Although LCC were exhibiting in a small space compared to some other universities, the work of the students still attracted many visitors.
Students of the BA Interior Design course are encouraged to showcase the work in their own individual style and not in a set layout which created an interesting mixture of work within their ‘corner’ and contrasted well with sometimes, it could be said, monolithic settings of works of other students from neighbouring universities.
Shows such as Free Range are creating a great platform for showcasing students’ work and are definitely great source of inspiration for anyone visiting.
