These activities have all helped towards the increasing recognition of the emerging discipline of sound arts and design within a recognisable and accessible scholarly framework.
While its research students have worked on collaborative projects with University of Kent radio students, Royal College of Art animation students, Circus Space and the London Sinfonietta.
The centre has endeavoured to extend its innovation outside the UK, and has co-produced symposia in Zurich (2009) and Aix-en-Provence (2010) as well as an evening of performances at the Gallus Theatre in Frankfurt. It has also developed a rewarding relationship with the Srishti School of Art, Design and Technology in Bangalore that has led to artists’ residencies, workshops, student and staff exchanges.
