Declan Harvey, a graduate of the Postgraduate Diploma Broadcast Journalism, was this week named IRN (Independent Radio News) Young Journalist of the Year.

Hosted in association with Sky News HD, the IRN Awards are a celebration of the people and teams involved in the creation and broadcast of first class news across the commercial radio network.

Declan, who since graduating from LCC in 2009 has worked as a reporter at LBC 97.3, was praised for his energy and on-air confidence.

The judges said his entry featured:

“Great attention-grabbing colour-pieces, creative packages and obvious understanding of the importance of multi-platform work, delivered with tremendous panache.”
