Rebekah Wade spoke about the need for a free press at this year’s prestigious Cudlipp Lecture, which took place at LCC on Monday 26 January 2009. Wade urged that there is a need to debate the notion of a privacy law democratically, meanwhile protestors launched a campaign against the controversial Editor of The Sun, handing out flyers to all visitors.
