The London College of Fashion Archives has received a donation of the work of Anne Maile who was a textile designer specializing in the tie and dye technique. Maile studied and later taught at Camberwell College of Arts in the 1960s and 70s. She published three books on tie-dye techniques, including one on tie-dyed paper, and the collection contains all her working notes and paper samples for that book. The collection also has as many examples of Maile’s tie-dyed fabrics, designs, photographs, teaching notes, and much more.

The lz@kx will close at 4pm on May 24th 2013 as part of the building works necessary for the CSM Foundation relocation to King’s Cross and Archway. The lz@kx will be moving to the 1st Floor of the Granary Building at King’s Cross, and we plan to open there in August 2013. Whilst we are closed we will provide a small printing facility within CSM library for anyone who needs to print using the white print card, and a very small number of MACs will be made available for students to use. Follow @learningzone on Twitter for updates, and students and staff are welcome to provide feedback and thoughts about the new ‘zone’.

We are sincerely sorry for the inconvenience that the closure will cause.

We will post some more news about your options if you want to use open access IT, printers, photocopiers etc… as soon as we are able to.

Library Services is pleased to announce that as part of a programme of college building works, a full refurbishment of the LCF library at John Prince’s Street will take place this summer. Arrangements are being made to relocate collections and services to the second floor of the building with a view to opening the new library at the beginning of the new academic year.

The scale of the works across the college will mean that the JPS site will be closed between 1 July – 31 August 2013 and therefore Library Services will be putting some alternative services in place to support students during this time.

- Staff and students will continue to be able to use libraries and IT open access facilities across Library Services.

- Loan entitlements for LCF staff and students will be extended to enable you to borrow additional items for the summer period.

- Academic staff are being contacted by library staff to identify a small number of essential resources required during the summer period which could be made available at another Library Services site and to consider further support measures during the period of closure.
