8th-12th August marks Copenhagen Fashion Week, with a host of LCF alumni preparing to showcase their latest designs to collective fashion industry and media.
Asger Juel Larson, who studied Menswear at both BA and MA level at LCF prepares to showcase his collection in Copenhagen after receiving rapturous praise from press and industry for his SS13 menswear line which was presented as part of the London College of Fashion: Menswear show – LCFM – show earlier in June.
Also showcasing is BA Fashion Design Technology: Womenswear graduate Johanna Pihl who graduated in 2011. Pihl, who impressed at the BA Catwalk show in 2011 with the piping and surgical cut-outs in her leather pieces and innovative use of texture and techniques such as Trapunto has had an outstanding year since graduating, wining the Young Fashion Industry award in her native Stockholm and also presenting at Stockholm Fashion Week earlier this year.
Also presenting her latest collection is Stine Riis, another graduate from BA Design Technology: Womenswear in 2011, who also won the Biddle Sawyer Silks Award for her innovative use of silk with wool, chiffon and patent leather at the annual BA catwalk show.
Stine has had an amazing year, in February winning the first ever global H&M design award after wowing some of the most well-known and influential judges on the global fashion scene today including respected Fashion Editor Hilary Alexander, highly influential fashion blogger Susie Bubble and Ann-Sofie Johansson, Head of Design at H&M. As part of her prize as global winner, Stine wins €50,000 and the chance to show her winning collection at Stockholm’s Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in 2012. Selected pieces from her winning collection will also be available to buy in H&M stores from mid-September.
All three LCF alumni will present their SS13 lines at presentations on August 10th in Copenhagen– we wish them the very best of luck!
