LCF Decoded

LCF took part in an exciting pilot programme with Decoded at their headquarters in East London. The course was the first of its kind dedicated to three full days of digital enlightenment. The first day covered the basics of coding: content (HTML), design (CSS) and behaviour (JavaScript). Staff from across LCF departments and recent graduates worked individually to create their own geolocation apps.

The second day revolved around planning and mapping out a new digital platform which the College is working on, interrogating how it could work and what it might look like. The third day was left for rapid prototyping. One team tackled functionality while the other team focussed on visualisation. The invigorating experience has led to a model that uses responsive web design and will now be refined and tested within the LCF community. The training was made possible by Student Enterprise and Employability (SEE) and Fashion Business Resource Studio (FBRS).
