LCF in Uzbekistan

Sarah Atkinson and Natalie Brown give a master class through a translator

Skills for Employability project

LCF is in the third year of a British Council funded project in Tashkent, capital city of the central Asian country of Uzbekistan.

The International Educational Consultancy Office at LCF along with a team of teaching staff have been working with students and staff in partner colleges in Tashkent to improve employability skills for students, to facilitate better industry engagement and to develop a more creative curriculum delivery.

The pilot group of students in the Tashkent colleges have responded enthusiastically to the LCF teaching delivery methods and staff from LCF have for the second year been invited to present a master class at Style Uz, an annual event celebrating both traditional and contemporary Uzbekistan arts and crafts and showcasing established designers such as Basso and Brooke, Salvatore Ferragamo and Max Mara as well as up and coming designers both local and international.

During this year’s event Sarah Atkinson and Natalie Brown from LCF gave a masterclass to an audience of over 200 at the exhibition centre. They were joined by Adam Watling from the Fashion Business Resource Studio for an industry round table.
