MA History and Culture of Fashion graduate Kristina Stankovski previously curated an exhibition of tartan-wear called Fabric of a Nation at the National Museum of Costume in Scotland in 2007. The show outlined the origins of tartan and its role in defining Scottish local and national identity, and also showcased the modern-day tartan creations of fashion designers such as Vivienne Westwood, Jean Paul Gaultier and Sir Hardy Amies.
Kristina followed this with an exhibition on Scottish knitwear in 2008 called Hip Knits, and she recently curated Jean Muir: A Fashion Icon at the National Museum of Scotland, which opened on the 7 November 2008 and closes on 15 March 2009.

It’s a pleasure to see fashion graduates still have a passion for tartan, and are doing their best to keep it in the public eye.
Keep up the good work.
Kind Regards,
David.
