With works by artists including Antony Gormley, Richard Deacon, Stephen Cox, Mona Hatoum, and Mark Titchner the 2013 Postgraduate Art Auction is set to be another spectacular event.
The Auction, as always, includes work by recent graduates and this year includes Nikolas Ventourakis, graduate of MA Photography 2013 whose series of photographs ‘Leaving Utopia’ won the Deutsche Bank Award in Photography, 2013.
We are delighted that Adrian Biddell of Sotheby’s has once again agreed to be our auctioneer. Entertaining, professional and very persuasive, he cajoles the room of alumni and friends of the college into parting with their money enthusiastically.
Madeleine King comments: “This year we have an outstanding collection of donated work by some of our leading artists and also work by recent graduates and emerging artists, many of whom have won major prizes. The Postgraduate student committee have proved again to be a dedicated team showing great professionalism. The Auction always informs their development as professional contemporary artists. We are indebted to our Auctioneer Adrian Biddell who generously gives his time, together with great enthusiasm and professionalism to this annual event”
The silent auction sells work by current students coming through the new Post-Graduate Fine Art Programme, MA Art & Science, MA Fine Art and MA Photography, and raises money for their degree show coming up in 2013
