This week Central Saint Martins BA Jewellery Design students are making brooches at London’s Victoria and Albert Museum.
As part of a project that responds to the new Postmodernism exhibition at the V&A, the students were briefed by the museum’s Deputy Head of Research, Glenn Adamson, to create jewellery that explores 21st century Postmodernism.
The students are currently creating their final pieces which will be exhibited in the V&A’s Art Studio from Friday September 30th. The designers gleaned inspiration from different aspects of Postmodernism – the aesthetic, the extravagance, the work of a particular design studio. Videos of the students talking about their work are currently being produced, and will be available to view soon.
