We are really pleased to announce that Central Saint Martins short courses will be working with the Affordable Art Fair in Brussels this spring.

As an education partner, we will provide insightful talks and lead discussions about the art scene in Brussels to fair attendees on Friday 15 March.

We are working with University of the Arts London alumni, Helen Beck (BA Hons Three Dimensional Design, Camberwell College of Arts) and Blanche Verspreeùwen (BA Graphic and Media Design, London College of Communication) to get the conversations started.

Both of our speakers are practicing artists based in Brussels.

What drives artists to create? (3-3.30)

Helen Beck talks about what drives artists to create beyond art school. This talks looks at artists from both Belgium and the UK. This talk is in French.

What’s new in the Brussels art scene? (3.30-4)

Join Blanche Verspreeùwen for a lively discussion about the new arrivals to the art scene in Brussels and what trends they are bringing to the younger generation. This talk is in Flemish.

Brussels art scene (4.30-5)

A behind the scenes look at the Brussels art scene, including commercial galleries, museums and cultural centres, street art and public works will be led by Helen Beck. This talk is in French.

Organisations promoting place and art (5-5.30)

Blanche Verspreeùwen will talk about both the Weils and the Kanal Centre Pompidou and how their events are promoting ‘place’ and art in Brussels. This talk is in Flemish.
