Students from the MA Textile Design course at Chelsea College of Art and Design have brought a riot of colour to the ordinarily grey Southbank in the form of a 15-metre baobab tree. The installation forms part of the current ‘Festival of the World’ exhibition at the Southbank Centre and is one in a series of large scale pieces of art on display. The structure has been created out of plastic pipes, with each layer wrapped by different students in brilliantly coloured fabrics of their choice or creation.
Look out for Under the Baobab Tree beside Waterloo Bridge between the 1st June and the 9th September!

Finally, after surfing http://blogs.arts.ac.uk/chelsea/2012/06/07/ma-textile-design-students-install-colourful-baobab-tree-outside-southbank-centre/ for a while,
I found a site from which I was able to really discover valuable insights in
regard to the studies and the knowledge that I want.
There need to be more things like this on Chyrp
