Anna Moderato – In Use
22 – 24 June 2012
Open 1 – 6pm daily
Free Admission
Private View, 21 June, 6-9pm
Anna Moderato graduated from Chelsea College of Art and Design in 2011 after winning the Acme Chelsea Studio Award supported by the Chelsea Arts Club Trust and Chelsea College of Art and Design. Her sculpture and choreography investigate the limitations of the human body through repetitious action, and the contrast between human and machine movements.
In Use, the artist’s first solo exhibition, takes the seminal dance pieces devised by Yvonne Reiner in the 1960s, comprised of minimal gestures and movements, as a point of departure, and includes new sculptures conceived as elements for non-professional performers to interact with.
An events programme featuring live performances and screenings will run in tandem with the show, extending contemporary and historical themes raised by the artist’s work.
