Eugene Nyee Macki’s practice is a constant renegotiation between sculpture, location and the act of performance; much of the work hinges on identity, representation, materiality, and the function of places. The artist is interested in the model of experience and the construction of ideologies in relation to environment; people, objects and the way scenarios within a visual context are manipulated.
