Forget the Chelsea Flower Show it’s all about the Mobile Picnic Pavilion! The Mobile Picnic Pavilion is the brain child of Camberwell BA Sculpture alumnus Francis Thorburn and it will be touring the streets of Islington on Saturday 29 May. Kicking off at 11am at St.Lukes and ending up at Islington Central Library an hour later. You are invited to come and join the parade. We recommend you bring a picnic and your walking shoes for an event that takes Guerrilla Gardening to a new dimension!
This is the first of an ongoing series of artists’ events and commissions for The Secret Garden Project – a programme of pop-up artists’ commissions and events, inspired by nature, for less know green spaces and urban corners across London. For 2010, Up Projects is working in partnership with Islington Council and the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea, supported by the Arts Council England.
