Link Bridge Preview; more architects drawings
Our architects have provided hundreds of drawings and plans in the course of the Camberwell Building Development. The architects drawings have been used in staff and student stakeholder meetings and featured here. One unique element of the development is the link between the new academic building and the 1970’s block at Peckham Road.
Initially we described the link between the new academic building and the 1970’s block as an atrium; this is because the first of the architects drawings proposed that it be made predominantly of glass (pictured above). As the plans have developed, its become more of bridge to link and compliment both buildings.
On site photographs from this ‘link bridge‘ can only show specific angles of how the buildings relate, whereas the architects drawings show views which can’t be photographed. For example, the entire south face of the new academic building (pictured above) or the east and west faces of the building ( pictured below).
