Progress Update 30 January
As the building development at Camberwell College of Arts continues to progress, thoughts turn again to student projects surrounding the college site and identity. Last year for example, BA Illustration student Jackson Mann was directly inspired by the architecture of buildings at Peckham Road. We are also running student projects directly related to the development; student entries for hoarding designs have now been received and are being shortlisted.
The next survey works will be highly visible; from Friday 10 February to Sunday 12 February specialist contractor’s will be abseiling the front of the 1970’s building at Peckham Road. They will be inspecting and testing the concrete in advance of refurbishment works planned for the summer. We have scheduled the works to minimise noise and disruption to student and staff, but people onsite and in the area may notice the contractor’s presence as they check the building.
