As part of LCF’s move to Stratford, the Digital Strategies and the Arts & Events Programme have developed two new spaces that will play host to a range of teaching, learning and showcasing activities through the lens of digital practice and innovation.
The Digital Learning Lab is an interdisciplinary space operating at the intersection between traditional and digital practice for design, making and ideation in a fashion context. As a provocation, the space will be home to a community of students and staff focused around physical computing, e-textiles, creative coding, mixed and virtual reality and 3D print, sitting alongside traditional tools and techniques. This community will explore new ways of working, contribute to pedagogic innovation and explore future forms and methods of output. With residencies from UAL Futures and the Digital Anthropology Lab, a vibrant programme of workshops and seminars operating at the frontier of digital practice will emerge.
Arcade East’s programme will transform Mare Street’s canteen into an exciting public congregation space from summer 2017. In collaboration with the Digital Learning Lab, it will enable showcases, discussions, screenings and other events.
